There are companies that offer official degrees in return for some amount of money which could be a few thousand dollars. There is neither any study involved nor the need to write exams. In exchange for the fees, these companies print the individual’s name on an official degree certificate which is worthless and mail it to the individual. He or she is now a certified professional.
We have compiled some tips to avoid fake online HR certificate courses. Some of the red flags you need to watch out for include the below mentioned:
(1) When a school requires only a valid credit card number from an individual who enrolls, it is considered a fake.
(2) When a degree is promised within thirty days from the date of payment, the school is a fake. These fake schools justify the absence of classroom sessions stating that a degree is dependent on “life experience”.
(3) The kind of payment schedule is also a clear indication. Good and reputed schools have their fee based on per credit hour or per course basis. On the contrary, fake schools charge only a flat fee for every degree especially in the range of $2000 to $4000. One needs to be wary when a school does not charge course wise.
(4) When one plans to enroll in a specific school, the accreditation must be checked for. When a school is not accredited, they are not legitimate. The accreditation must be awarded by an institution that is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The CHEA website lists the institutions that accredit schools.
(5) When an individual is interested in earning an HR certification and proposes to enter a reputed college, he should take some efforts to check the credentials of the college. This will prevent the individual from spending money on a worthless degree that does not deserve any accolades. The authenticity of an online course or school can be verified at the website of Better Business Bureau. When there are several complaints lodged on a school, chances are that the school is a fake.
One must meticulously research for the credentials of a human resources certificate online course before enrolling in their program.
